I have been following the comments and statistics about La Jolla real estate.

It appears that property in La Jolla is beginning to sell on a slow and steady pace.

Consumer confidence will take awhile to return. If one looks at the sales pattern that is in the following graphs one can’t help but see that we are beginning to build that all important base. I don’t think we will go up immediately but rather move in a continuous line then a slow and steady appreciation will begin from there.

La Jolla is "the place." People want to be here. If you are here, you know. If not, come here and find out. It is a place that will make you feel good.

More good news came on the housing front. New U.S. home sales jumped 9.6 percent in July, a fourth straight monthly gain that beat analysts’ expectations.

The Commerce Department said home sales rose to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 433,000 from an upwardly revised June rate of 395,000. But the median sales price of $210,000 was down 11.5 percent from $237,300 a year earlier.

La Jolla Summer Events

August 3, 2009 by Joan · Leave a Comment

La Jolla is buzzing. I see lots of out of state license plates from Arizona, Texas, Pennsylvania, and rented cars indicating there may be a visitor behind the wheel. On the weekends there are many people from Los Angeles and north. Who can blame them?
The La Jolla Music Society’s Summerfest series is alive and well. They performed in July and continue until August 23, 7:30pm Thursdays at Scripps Park. The concerts are free.
The horses are racing everyday but Tuesday. Some of the people who are here visiting are here specifically here for this famous race track. Visitors come from all over the world to attend these races.
There is an ongoing controversy at the Children’s Pool concerning the seals who have taken over the beach. It seems, depending on what day it is, it is either the children’s beach, or the seals beach. As of this writing, the beach belongs to the seals.
A two day art and wine festival is in the planning stage. The plans right now are that the art and wine festival will take place October 10-11th. The art show will be juried with prizes for the winners. It will benefit La Jolla’s three public elementary schools: La Jolla Elementary, Bird Rock Elementary, and Torrey Pines Elementary. Right now the plans call for closing the 7400 block of Girard from Pearl to the south driveway of La Jolla elementary school. I will keep you posted as plans progress.
